what is linguistics

WHAT IS LINGUISTICS?

Linguistics is the Scientifics study of the human language, for this reason language is what makes us human because the language give communication and the communication give the capacity to express ideas, feelings and thinking.

Language is can be defined as verbal, physical, biologically innate, and a basic form of communication.
Linguistics works together whit language because the goal of linguistics is understand how the language works, for this reason linguistics is divided in some branches that study in a separate way the different functions of language.
·         Phonetics The inventory of sounds in a language
·         Phonology Rules of how sounds are combined in a language
·         Morphology Rules of word formation in a language
·         Syntax Rules of sentence formation in a language
·         Pragmatics study of the language in context
·   Semantics Rules that govern how meaning is expressed by words and sentences in a language

The language can appear in a person in two ways: acquisition or learning

The process of language acquisition is different from the process of language learning. Acquisition takes place unconsciously, without direct instruction. Any of us who has studied a second language in school knows that learning a language is a conscious (and often difficult!) process requiring practice and study. Its mean that language acquisition natural, unconscious process of language development in humans that occurs without instruction. And language learning process of gaining conscious knowledge of language through instruction.
